Both Active and Scheduled assignments have been published, but only Active assignments are visible to learners. Their Available from date determines which view they appear in within Manage Assignments.
Scheduled
A Scheduled assignment has a future Available from date and time. Admins can see it, but learners cannot see or open it yet. It moves to Active automatically when that time arrives.
Active
An Active assignment has become available to learners. It stays in Active even after its Due date passes. If an Until date closes further work, the assignment will remain in Active; learners can still view the assignment and its report, though no new progress can be added.
Archived
An assignment will stay in Active until admin archives it; then, the assignment will move to the Archived tab for both admins and learners.
Draft
An unpublished assignment appears under Draft, not Scheduled or Active. Draft assignments are never visible to learners.
