I'm seeing the error message “Feature Temporarily Unavailable.” What should I do?

The “Feature Temporarily Unavailable” message means the SonoSimulator was unable to access the specific feature you are trying to access, such as a findings video, Doppler video, saving images, or other features requiring a network connection.

This is usually caused by an unstable internet connection, but it can also be the result of an underperforming computer struggling to process the request.

Try These Troubleshooting Steps First

1. Retry

Often, the easiest fix is to give the software a second chance to access the feature.

  • Try again: Close the specific case or window you are in and try reopening it.

  • Wait a moment: If your internet connection was temporarily unstable, waiting a minute before retrying can often resolve the issue.

2. Check Your Internet Connection

You don’t necessarily need a high-speed connection, but you do need a consistent one to stream videos or upload images.

  • Toggle Wi-Fi: Turn your computer's Wi-Fi off and back on again to refresh your connection.

  • Router Proximity: If you are using Wi-Fi, moving closer to the router can significantly reduce data drops.

  • Wired Ethernet: For the most stable experience, use a wired Ethernet cable instead of Wi-Fi.

  • Switch Networks: Guest or public Wi-Fi networks often "drop packets." If possible, switch to a private network or a mobile hotspot.

3. Close Unnecessary Applications

If your computer is underperforming, it may not have enough available resources (RAM or CPU) to run the SonoSimulator optimally.

  • Close background programs: Shut down web browsers, streaming services, or other heavy applications to free up resources for the SonoSimulator.

4. Restart the SonoSimulator

If the internal components have stalled due to a hardware or network glitch, a full restart is often the best way to reset them.

  • Completely close the the the the SonoSimulator.

  • Relaunch the application and log back in.

  • If that doesn’t help, disconnect your SonoSim probe, restart your computer, and try again.

5. Check Your SonoSim Probe Connection

  • Make sure your SonoSim Probe is securely connected while running the SonoSimulator.

  • Try plugging it into a different USB port.
